Whats Next...

Hey now

First of all, thanks to the fans and friends who came out last night to the R Bar. Not every show can be perfect and after a scuffle with the sound guy we feel we did all we could to rectify the situation. Some people are just assholes. Its a shitty business and some times things get messy. After all, its only Rock n Roll.

On to better news....We have been working like crazy trying to get an EP together before the end of the year. While we make no promises, things are looking good for there to be a 5 or 6 song release in late December. It will probably just be available digitally at first, but anything is possible. This will be an extension of the "something is happening" project we started in September.

It was a year ago from tomorrow, halloween, that we released the first demos from the "In Question" LP on myspace, so its exciting to be able to say we already have some new songs in the works. With the musical landscape shifting to a digital world we hope to consistently release music multiple times a year. Without having to wait for cds to be pressed and shipped and all the other bull shit, we can get the songs out to you guys littlerly days after they are recorded, mixed, and mastered. Get ready beacause somthing is happening...

-Rob Blackness PS: we hope to record a Christmas song Medly that will be available as a free download just in time for the holidays, so keep checking back.

August Update

Hey now. I know it’s been a while, but lots of things have been going on in In Question land. First we have been knuckle deep in rehearsals with our new guitarist, Strippy, going over all the material from the “In Question” record and all the old favorites. Usually summer time is when we play lots of show, but we’ve been basically using this summer to regroup and get ready for a crazy remainder of the year. We have a few show booked in the fall with many more to come. We did get a few major things accomplished this summer…like releasing the physical version of our new album. Released a few weeks ago, the physical copy of the album has a full color booklet and comes with a limited edition dvd featuring over 30 minutes of great In Question stuff, including a tour documentary, a making of the album documentary, the Crazy Blue Eyes music video, and a history of the band documentary featuring video clips from every incarnation of the group. The dvd is a limited run, so be sure to get the new album at the next show you attend…it will knock your socks off. We will be playing the Welcome to Rockland Fest II in Nyack NY on 8/10 opening for Catch 22 and playing with tons of other great bands, and then taking the rest of the summer to continue working in some older material for the fall and winter shows. Be on the lookout for our new interactive website launching in September. The site will feature videos, photos, demos, blogs, and just about anything else dominant. See you at the shows -Rob Blackness ps…..we’re already working on new material…….maybe. just maybe…we’ll see a new digital EP in time for Christmas….time will tell…:o)

We are just about done mixing the new tunes. So far we have 4 songs down, but we may wind up doing a few more to make a full EP release out of this. Either way there will be new In Question music up on myspace and our website on Halloween followed by a physical release later in the year. We are getting booked up pretty solid from November through Christmas, followed by a short holiday break and then a West Coast tour starting in mid January, so basically starting with the online release of the new music on Halloween we are heading in to a very busy and fruitful In Question Fall and Winter. We hope your ready for it...

PRS Guitars and Rob Blackness PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release

Top Shelf Productions Proudly Announces Endorsement Deal Between Rob Blackness of the band In Question and PRS Guitars
Rockland County, NY - June, 2007

Rob Blackness, singer-guitarist of the New York based rock band In Question has just embarked on an endorsement venture with internationally acclaimed guitar manufacturer Paul Reed Smith. Rob Blackness, who signed with management company Top Shelf Productions in early 2004, formed the band In Question in March of 2003. Since then, In Question has toured extensively and released one LP and two EP's available nationally through various online distributors such as iTunes and Snocap. A new LP will be released in late summer 2007. ""It's an honor to be endorsed by PRS and be in the company of great PRS artists such as Dave Navarro, Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola, and Mark Tremonti,"" says Blackness, adding ""I've owned and played just about every type and brand of guitar out there and nothing plays, feels, and offers such a range of diverse tones as a Paul Reed Smith guitar."" Blackness first met with PRS Director of Artist Relations, Winn Krozack at the 2007 Winter NAMM Convention in Anaheim, California. ""After speaking to Winn at length, I was intrigued by how he really seemed to care about what I was looking for in a guitar and how he wanted to make sure that the PRS he gave me would fulfill all of my needs. Winn made me feel like I was part of the PRS family and because of that I feel this is the start a long, fruitful working relationship"". - Rob Blackness Top Shelf Productions is a Hudson Valley, NY based management and production company. PRS Guitars is a Maryland based guitar company serving guitarists in a vast array of musical genres and offering signature models for artists such as Dave Navarro, Carlos Santana, and Mark Tremonti. 2007 recap

Hey now! Rob Blackness here. This has been a crazy year in the world of In Question. First off, the year started with a line up that...well…while it performed as a unit, did not have the spark needed to take it to the next level. As stated earlier this year, we wish both members we parted ways with, James Mirarchi and Tom Z, the best in their future endeavors and now happily finish out the year with the most solid line up, both on and off stage, that we have seen since the beginning. This year also saw the debut of the first new In Question material in almost 2 years. Writing is again exciting and we are striving to write the best music we can, while at the same time always tweaking and reworking the older songs to keep everything fresh. In June we secured an endorsement deal with PRS Guitars, whom along with Dean Markley guitar stings, Dunlop/MXR pedals, and Calzone Case Co, hook us up with gear and deals, and make us feel like family. We have been playing just about every week since Halloween and can’t say THANK YOU enough to all the friends who’ve been coming to every show!! It is truly humbling to look out at the crowd every night and see the same faces singing along to songs we’ve writing. Its an amazing feeling. We also have to thank all the new people we’ve been meeting every week……we wouldn’t be anything without ALL of you. As some of you know, we are starting off 2008 with an 11 day tour of the west coast with shows in Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Anaheim. Because of everyone continued support we are able to go on this tour and take one more step towards our dreams. Thanks to EVERYONE…have a Happy Holiday Season and a Wasted New Years Eve. See you in 2008 In Question
